Back to School Numbers 0-5

These no-prep worksheets make a great addition to your Back to School math lessons. Students will get lots of practice with tracing and writing numbers 0-5 along with cutting and pasting.

While using these worksheets during a Whole Group lesson you get to teach proper number formation while students trace and write numbers. You are also showing one-to-one correspondence as students count only one object for each number. Touching each object while counting is a helpful strategy. All of this, plus modeling how to hold and use scissors properly. These are all fine motor skills that pre-k and kindergarten need to practice.

Once students have been introduced to how to write numbers 0-5, these worksheets are great for Centers and Small Groups. Teacher led Small Groups are a great way to see what numbers have been mastered and which need additional practice. Keep track of student progress and send home a worksheet for Homework with those who need additional practice. You can also choose worksheets to be stapled into a packet to send home for homework as students are continuing to practice writing and counting to 5.
